Selling off Bryn Glas Hill? My brother who attended the ceremony for the anniversary of Patriot Dennis Coslett has informed me that he heard from a relable source down in Llanelli that the area around and including Bryn Glas Hill is up for auction at the end of this month.I'm surprised not to see anything about it here or elsewhere on the net, or in the media.
Anyone heard about or able to shed more light on it? In England and Scotland battlefields are celebrated and held as places of historic value, yet ours will be sold off for housing development if we don't do something fast.
The source is reliable and i'm told he has it on his own website, although i don't have the web address, and i'm hesitant to name drop on a public message board. If you PM me i will give it to you.
Well found an article dated to the 5th may on western mail website....

Maybe we should all bombard the appropriate assembly minister with letters and e-mails.What do you think?

Someone told me thay had seen something about this in the paper and the Friends of Pilleth, who restored the church, were trying to get the Welsh Assembly Government to buy the site. WAG said No. But I have not seen any of this in the Western Mail etc.

Contact the Welsh Assembly http://www.wales.gov.uk/index.htm to ask them to get involved (they should buy it like the Scots buy theirs!)

Does anybody here think that the welsh assembly(who are ectually a waste of money & time) aer actually interested, as soon as you elect a politician the majority of them don't give a monkey's about the public ar anything to do with their nation, only in linin gtheir own pockets there interested in.

Thankyou Dai
I can see why people have mixed feelings over the Welsh assmeble seeing that the assemble is tied down. Although it preforms it's function and it is the first step toward some what of a Welsh government in Wales.
That is interesting that the labour party would object to the Welsh assemble haveing law making authority. I mean isn't the labour party a Welsh labour party and being so wouldn't they be for Wales they are Welsh aren't they? It just seems odd the labour party is against a Welsh assemble that could make it's own laws. I would think all the parties of Wales would work together to secure a strong Welsh government being they themsleves as well as their party Welsh in nature.
I do understand the part about the assemble not having enough muney though they would have to come back when it was feeding time although if they had their own feed bag our way of getting muney from taxes from the resources of Wales than they probable wouldn't be tied down our come back for feed time.

Regarding the Welsh Assembly, I read on another site that there's current legislation going throught the House of Lords. The bill proposes increased power for the Assembly, but each item must be approved by Westminster. That amounts to little or no improvement. In fact, it could do great harm.
What do you think, gentlemen? Would you rather see this bill fail and wait for something better? Sometimes postponing change can be beneficial, especially if the legislative language is muddy.

YOu would think that Sir Robert Green Price with all his wealth, if he cares more than a tinker's cuss for the nation to which the land really belongs, would donate that portion of it to CADW or a similar org. It's very frustrating and sad as a Welsh person to see this sort of thing happening to your country.

I reckons if they start to agree to plans to build on Bryn Glas we should get our tents and caravans etc and pitch up on a Famous English battlefield to highlight this issue??

Or why not just pitch up on Bryn Glas and declare it a mini-Welsh Republic? We should be saying this land is the inalienable property of the people of Cymru...if we can't fight them on this turf where the f**k can we fight them?

Actually thats not a bad idea. Does anyone know who owns the land? We could possibly get publicity on whats happening out of this.
