: .. that there are substantial numbers of women in the Senedd but they are getting there by representing male interests not female ones. Leanne pro-*test*-('")ed that women have made good progress, but I think that it is on men's terms. Not too sure what you mean dai.I dont see politics as totally representing either male or female interests.Surely the interests of society at large are not defined by gender.Yes there are issues that can have a bigger impact on certain sections of society, but are they fundamentally gender related? Maybe we should start another thread to discuss this.Although to be frank I dont support anything that I consider to be divisive,be it a persons gender, colour or creed.

The culture of teenagers is, as ever, shocking but I am getting really concerned about the teenage boys I know who seem to be quite remote from reality, especially where girls are concerned due to pornography I dont see this as a new phenomena. As for your neice being a "fashion victim",I have a rather large family and I also worked for a youth project for some time and I found the boys were as obsessed as the girls. To be honest Dai the materialism of both sexes at that age worries me. Basically I've come to the conclusion that two chambers can prevent a clique holding all the power and curb loony legislation, and furthermore if the chambers are male and female it is an important psycho-political act to plant men and women on an equal basis where the power is in the central public space of the republic. The only type of democracy I want to see in a republic would be participatory democracy.
